beginning your beacon journey as a family
step 1 - build your beacon community
The Beacon program works within a community of 3-5 families. Parents who desire to embark on the Beacon journey must find other families who are ready and willing to walk with them. Families can be related, school-based, parish-based, etc.
step 2 - register your community
Click the button to register your community for the Beacon program. The program is free-of-charge. However, donations are always welcome to help cover the costs of materials and stipends for mentors. During registration, you will be asked to select your mentors who will then reach out to the community coordinator directly to plan the roll-out of the program.
NOTE: Once registered you will be given the option to download the program materials digitally for free or purchase physical copies for a small price.
STEP 3 - THE JOURNEY BEGINS
THE BEACON JOURNEY FOLLOWS A SIMPLE FOUR-CHAPTER FLOW
CHAPTER 01
OPENING GATHERING
The Beacon community gathers for a meal where the mentors are invited and guide a simple family retreat: prayer, group discussion/workshop, program explanation, and deep and meaningful family fellowship.
CHAPTER 02
MONTHLY QUESTS
Each family will commit to live out 8 quests each month that the program will provide them. These quests touch on the 5 elements of Regnum Christi (spiritual life, family life, formation, accompaniment, and mission).
CHAPTER 03
PERIODIC CHECK-INS
Each month there will be prescribed meetings between the different members of the family to gather together for fellowship, to pray together, and to go over the progress of their journey of Beacon.
CHAPTER 04
CLOSING GATHERING
The Beacon community gathers for a final moment of fellowship and prayer to give thanks to God for the journey undertaken. This gathering may include a special mass celebrated by the priest mentor.

What are the beacon quests like?
Once you register, you’ll get access to the password-protected community page where you can download the monthly quest lists. The BEACON program is organized into three sequential four-month cycles; it’s important to complete the cycles in order. You don’t need to commit to all three cycles to begin—committing to doing one cycle is sufficient!
The check-ins are done on two levels: the first being among gender-specific parent groups (dad groups, mom groups), and the second being as a whole Beacon community. It is highly recommended that one of the mentors be present at each of those check-ins (Legionary priest with dads, Consecrated woman with moms, and either one during family gatherings).
The frequency of each check-in should at least be once a month for parent groups, and once during the program for the entire community (not including the opening and closing gatherings). Parents can decide to meet more than the suggested frequency.
